What is blue light?

Blue light is the most energetic segment of the visible light spectrum responsible for keeping you alert. Blue light penetrates your retinas, giving your brain a prompt that it’s time to wake up and enjoy the day. Exposure to blue light during daytime hours helps maintain a healthful circadian rhythm - the body's natural wake and sleep cycle. However, extended exposure to blue light can have a significant impact on our wellbeing – headaches, eye irritation and fatigue are all common symptoms of too much blue light exposure. It also disrupts your natural sleep cycles causing those sleepless nights!

Were does it come from?

It’s naturally present in sunlight and provides health benefits for our body clocks, but is also concentrated in the light that comes out of your digital devices – phones, tablets, laptops, everything! Therefore we should look to protect ourselves.

Wapta blue light glasses filter 99% of blue light up to 400nm.

How to protect yourself?

Just like we protect ourselves from the sun with sunglasses, it is suggested to protect ourselves from screens with anti blue light glasses. These glasses filter the light emitted from the screens and reduce the negative impacts screens have on our eyes.

Wapta blue light glasses effectively block up to 99% of harmful UV & blue light emissions between 300-400nm and up to 55% of harmful blue light between 400-420nm.
